🛜 ⛴️ Remote control ahoy!

Example of a remote control station, here: NMK (2023) in Bremen
👉 An important step for inland shipping: Rhenus PartnerShip GmbH & Co. KG received approval in March of this year to test remote-controlled navigation on the Rhine under real conditions on board the Ernst Kramer. As part of the FernBin project, the project partners Argonav GmbH, Argonics GmbH, DST, and the Chair of Mechatronics (IMECH) at the University of Duisburg-Essen provided the technology.
💪 Together with Argonav GmbH, we are among the few companies in Europe that can now offer a complete remote control system from a single source. We enable our customers to set up a remote control center tailored to their individual needs. The system integrates: remote control of rudder, main engines and bow thruster, transmission of radar and navigation data, ECDIS chart display, LiDAR data, radio communication as well as video and audio data, automatic track guidance (argoTrackPilot), and a system for emergency stop and virtual anchoring (argoPositionPilot).
We would like to once again express our sincere thanks to all participants of the FernBin project, especially Rhenus PartnerShip GmbH & Co. KG and the entire crew of the Ernst Kramer.
