ℹ️📖 New regulations for the use of trackpilots from June 1, 2026

With the new CCNR transitional arrangement for track guidance assistants in inland navigation, a clear legal framework for systems such as the argoTrackPilot will apply from June 1, 2026. It is important to us to inform our customers early and transparently: the argoTrackPilot can be operated fully in compliance with the new requirements – provided that the prescribed operating and usage rules are observed.
The new regulations define, among other things, the following requirements for the operation of such systems – requirements that are supported by the argoTrackPilot:
✅ Use as an assistance system with the vessel operator remaining responsible at all times
✅ Use of an attention monitoring system with regular confirmation of operator presence
✅ Timely deactivation before locks – supported by the argoTrackPilot through early warnings and alarms, independent of the source of the active track
✅ Recording and storage of relevant operational data in accordance with the regulations
Safety, responsibility, and reliable operation have been at the core of the argoTrackPilot’s development from the very beginning. Our goal is not only to provide our customers with technical reliability, but also with the confidence of operating a future-proof and regulation-compliant solution.
The current CCNR requirements confirm the path we have been following with the argoTrackPilot for years: integrating modern assistance systems into inland navigation in a responsible and safe manner.
